WELCOME!
Hello, and welcome to Mary DeMuth’s Authentic Parenting Tour!
First of all, thank you so much for agreeing to participate in the APT. We really appreciate your time and effort in making this a successful tour. You’ll notice that you have several options on how to participate. I don’t mean to overwhelm you with decisions, but we want to offer you the flexibility needed to remain consistent with the normal feel of your blog postings.
Please note on the right hand side of this page are many useful links to pictures and HTML codes you can use, examples you can visit, and other resources.

BLOG TOUR OPTIONS
As a part of the blog tour, you have a couple options on how to participate.
OPTION ONE: (recommended)
During your assigned week, post twice (preferably once on Monday and once on Wednesday or Thurdsay). The first post, or the “buzz post,“ would be either an interview, book review or your thoughts on the subject matter of the book, along with a picture of Mary or the book cover. It would be extra nice to include a link to Mary’s blog. The second post, or the “buy post,” would be a short and sweet request to purchase Authentic Parenting, with a link to it on Mary’s blog. Based upon Marcus Goodyear’s studies of successful blog tours, this is the most effective way to promote the purchase of Authentic Parenting. Longer posts often encourage good discussion, but distract the reader from acting upon your recommendation.
OPTION TWO:
During your assigned week, create a buzz post on your blog, along with a picture of the book cover (and Mary, if you want). We’d appreciate a link to Mary’s blog and or a link to buy her book directly from her.
Please know it is totally acceptable to choose option two; creating buzz is extremely helpful in the promotion process. We recommend option one because of its proven effectiveness in creating buzz AND promoting book sales.
BUZZ POST OPTIONS
The buzz post is intended to give Mary exposure to new readers and create interest in Authentic Parenting.
OPTION ONE:
Email Mary directly with 3-5 of your burning questions at least one week in advance of your blog posting week. As the queen or king of your blog, you know better what your readers need to know.
You can find an example of an interview here.
OPTION TWO:
Mary has a complete interview to which you can link or quote. We discourage posting the interview verbatim because if everyone is publishing the same content, the tour can feel a bit rote.
You can find the interview with Mary here.
OPTION THREE:
Complete a book review of Authentic Parenting. If you do not have the book, you can find an excerpt of it here. Please feel free to give your honest opinion, in love (of course!)
You can find an example of a book review here.
OPTION FOUR:
Post your thoughts on parenting in a post-modern culture, referencing and or quoting Mary’s book. A book recommendation would follow nicely.
You can find an example of this kind of post here.
LINKING TO OTHER HOSTS
Below are some additional ways you can select to help promote the tour itself. It’s okay if you chose to do neither, but it is definitely helpful in increasing visibility to the tour and the other bloggers involved. And, of course, feel free to do both!
1) At the end of your post, include a link to the other bloggers who are hosting Mary’s tour during your week.
Here is the HTML code for each week. Simply copy and paste the code into the appropriate place in your blog posting.
2) Comment on the other blogs who are hosting Mary during your week.
For easy accessibility, here are all of the links.
QUESTIONNAIRE
Please email back your responses to me ASAP.
1) Does your assigned week work for you? If not, please let me know which week you’d prefer.
2) Please verify for me which blog(s) you’ll be posting on and what day(s).
3) Please let me know what buzz post option you selected.
4) Any other questions or issues?
